The u14 boys narrowly lost to Three Rock Rovers 2-1 under the Saturday night lights in an entertaining encounter on the front pitch at Grange road which is their first loss of the year after wins against Bray, Pembroke and drawing with Monkstown.
In a battle of midfields Railway's Toby O'Connell, Rob O'Brien and Jonny Woods (who got the Railway goal) really impressed with a competitive performance where they got the better of their TRR counterparts. Whilst they controlled possession it did leave them susceptible to 3-Rock counter attacks which allowed them to create chances and score on the break away.
A really good team performance all round and particular mention to some of the u12 lads who stepped up with some of the u14 regulars missing.
More friendly matches will be arranged over the coming weeks ahead of the next league and cup matches so the lads are match ready. A big thanks to Andy McGregor for coaching and also Kenny Carroll for umpiring
