Firstly thanks to the 68 individuals who have so far backed our project to invest in the pitch and playing facilities for the hockey club. We hit our initial target and that meant we received backing of €5,000 from Dublin City Council's Crowdfund Dublin City Fund.

Railway Union's project to develop and engage youth via sport

Whilst we have raised over €12,000 in funds, we are targeting to raise just a little more so as to purchase a complete set of Hockey 5s Boards as well as a full set of Indoor Hockey rebound boards.

We have some funding in place to start the development works on the grass area alongside the hockey pitch, including the installation of a mini pitch / skills zone and the Hockey 5s boards will be used on both the main pitch as well as the new mini pitch. Small sided games are great for player development, particularly for younger players as it facilitates more time on the ball, greater ball in play and awareness of space and passing options in tighter spaces.

If you're not yet one of the 68 who have backed this project, we would ask that you consider making some donation. All funds will be greatly welcomed. We will need to close off the fundraising later this Summer so as to place the order for the equipment, so looking for one last big push for support.
