With the backing of Dublin City Council's Community Climate Action Fund the Sports Club recently completed the installation of solar panels at the clubhouse.

In 2022, the Sports Club added the need to act to address climate change, environmental protection and embrace sustainability principles within its values. This is very much aligned to the Hockey Club's own ambitions in the area through our Sustainability in Sport programme, which includes our partnership with Wolfhound and Elk and our recycling of hockey sticks and equipment.

Through grant funding from the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment via the Community Climate Action Fund supported by Dublin City Council, the Sports Club has now installed 35 solar panels and battery storage and this will meet a material level of the club's day to day electricity needs. Further sustainability focused projects are envisaged, including EV car charging points, water attenuation and rainwater harvesting and additional solar energy works.
