Well done to all of our players, coaches and managers or our Senior W4s squads who had a really positive 2025/2026 season.
We fielded 75 players across the two squads and from our 37 matches (league and cup), we won 19 and drew 4 with both squads finishing in 4th place in their leagues (Div 10 and Div 12). We had a few close games across the course of the season and had those results fallen our way, they could well have both been a top two team.
The commitment to Saturday matches was really good across the year with squads of 14+ players for many weekends, meaning we got the opportunity to play a lot of players and give all good match time to develop their match days skills. Some away trips always seem to be a challenge though !!
We had 13 clean sheets and not conceding a goal in one out of every 3 matches is a big part to finishing towards the top of the table. A shout out here to Pippa Cole and Rafaela Moliane in particular for their great goalkeeping across the season, keeping us in matches and securing points with saves at critical times. Robyn O'Leary also chipped in with a couple of clean sheets too in the games she played.
Slotting goals away at the other end is the other key component to getting results and congratulations to Jessica Tierney and Leia Braithwaite - joint top goalscorers with 6 goals for the W4s-I and to Co-Captain of the W4s-II Abigail Phelan who netted 5 goals to be top goalscorer for that squad.
It's been a really enjoyable season and as a club our ambition is to help all our players Enjoy, Develop and Excel at hockey. We believe that we have achieved that this season and that all players have developed and enjoyed the season. Well done to Co-Captains of the two squads Georgia Massey, Isabel Alexander, Abigail Phelan and Judy O'Sullivan.
Thanks also to those coaches and parents who assisted at various times as Team Managers; Team Coordinators and Assistant Coaches.
