Many members will already be aware of our Sustainability in Sport programme launched last year with various initiatives well under way such as the new Wolfhound & Elk hockey shirts & socks with sustainable material made from recycled plastic bottles.
We are delighted to let members and parents know we have agreed a partnership to roll out our recycle & re-use initiative that encourages and facilitates members donating in hockey sticks and Railway Union playing/training kit that is no longer needed or too small.
Eco Friendly Uniforms & Sports kit is an initiative set up by local resident Melissa O’Halloran to reduce our textile waste through encouraging more recycling of school uniforms and sports gear and she operates pop up shops on various dates using Railway Union Sports club’s function room.

What we are asking you to do?
• If you have any hockey sticks that are in good condition and are too small or no longer used by your child please donate them in so they can be recycled (we have recycled 120 junior sticks this year !)
• Any railway kit & sticks – please donate directly to Melissa OR can be left at the Junior Hockey shed which is pitch side and open during junior coaching sessions

Railway Hockey Kit update (Sept 2021)
• Most playing kit is available from our pitchside junior shop which is open during junior coaching hours.
• Playing shirts, Skorts/Shorts and Socks are in stock but some sizes we are awaiting a new delivery order (skorts expected soon, womens playing shirts early October)
• New Wolfhound & Elk Railway track suit tops have been ordered and expecting delivery towards the end of October. If you would like to pre-order a tracksuit top please email Steve ruhcboys@gmail.com or Riona/Kate at ruhccolts@gmail.com (for those who have already pre-ordered in recent weeks you do not need to email)
