Earlier this summer, we successfully crowdfunded via Dublin City Council's Spacehive portal to enable us to purchase the Hockey5s boards and new indoor hockey boards.
We have now been accepted by Dublin City Council for the next stage of our development plans for the area beside the hockey pitch. If we can get the support of over 25 individuals, we can seek potential funding from Dublin City Council of up to €5,000 towards the project. Contributions of all amounts would be greatly welcomed.
So What is planned?
We plan to install some calisthenics equipment in the area beside the hockey pitch at the Lakelands side of the grounds. This will provide important additional facilities for our members and local schools to aid their physical and athletic development - particularly for our youth members.
Alongside the main hockey pitch, our Hockey5s boards and the planned mini training zone (initial works will commence in the coming months), the additional equipment will support us delivering improved facilities for our members and the local schools and universities which use the grounds. All with the objective of supporting healthier lifestyles and improved athletic development.
Of particular importance to us as a club is the retention of children and young adults playing sport and staying active. We have developed our facilities over the past few years with the aim of providing a diversity of facilities to ensure that physical activity can be engaging and interesting to young individuals. This supports the enjoyment and continued participation in sport by such members. The installation of the proposed equipment will continue to support this objective.
We hope that as many members as can will support this project. You can contribute at:
