Shellybanks ETNS Hockey programme is run in partnership with the Railway Junior Hockey to help establish a hockey programme at the school. The weekly coaching session are delivered after school on Friday afternoons (3.15pm-4.15pm) at Railway Union's astroturf hockey pitch at Park Avenue Sandymount. It is a 15 minute walk from Shellybanks school. The programme was established in 2021 and we now have around 90 pupils enjoying hockey on a weekly basis. We have also commenced playing some matches at different age groups and the longer term plan would be to start entering Shellybanks ETNS hockey teams into the Leinster school leagues. We are still working on designing a new hockey playing shirt and SB hockey hoody will hopefully arrive in 2022.

It is open to pupils from SB from 1st class to 6th class and both boys and girls. The weekly coaching runs on a per term basis with Term 1 from September to December and Term 2 from January to April. At present Steve Hiles is the Railway Hockey club coordinator and Lesley Hughes is the SB parent liaison who can deal with queries too.
